Vivian is an important NPC in ATLYSS. She can be found in her hut in Sanctum, located to the right of Sally's store. She has the ability to Enchant a player's Weapons and Armor, as well as change the damage scaling on a weapon.

Description

Vivian possesses the characteristics of a Poon, with gray fur, blue hair, ears and a tail, similar to that of a racoon. Her stature is somewhat short and skinny. Her attitude portrays her as a snarky and slightly rude character.

As an apprentice to Angela, her studies are very similar to hers, with the exception being her preference for enchantments over spells.

Her clothing is somewhat similar to Angela's, though Vivian's posseses a different color pallet and pattern, shorter skirt, and sleeves

Enchanting

Main article: Enchanting

Vivian's main purpose is applying and re-rolling Enchantments on weapons and armor. These will come at a price, usually in the form of  Crowns and Trade Items.

The prices required for each item is listed on its respective wiki page.

Weapon Scaling

Vivian can also change which attack power a specific weapon scales with, if it doesn't already utilize the desired attack power. In order to change a weapon's attack scale, either a  Might Stone (Strength),  Flux Stone (Mind) or  Agility Stone (Dex) is required.

Dialogue

Besides her role as a functional store NPC, Vivian also offers several dialogue options explaining enchanting mechanics and more.

Weapon Scaling?

Right. So, if you put an equippable weapon into the enchanting slot, you can change the damage scale of it.
Depending on what you wanna do, you may need some stones to do this sort of thing.
For Strength, you'll need Might Stones.
Dexterity will need Agility Stones.
Lasty, Mind requires Flux Stones. Got it? Anyways...
If the weapon is inherited to the scale you want, then it won't cost any stones. Cool, right?
The stones can be found around the world, but they can also be sold from vendors too.
The stones are pricy, so I won't cheap out on you and add more to the cost. So... you're welcome.

Enchanting?

Okay, so this is how enchanting works.
You give me a piece of equipment. Weapons or armor can do.
Depending on the equipment, it'll cost crowns. Rare items will additionally need trade items to enchant.
Make sure the equipment isn't formally exotic though, I can't enchant those. They are already too strong.
Enchanting is a delicate process, and it's nearly impossible to choose which one you want.
Because of that, you will get a random enchantment each time. Any existing one on an item will be taken over.
I hope you understood all that. I would rather not give you the run-down again.

Apprentice?

Yep, I'm Angela's apprentice. A Mystic, part of her studies.
I've branched off to study more on enchanting rather than studying offensive magic.
I think it's more chill. It makes good cash too, when things go well anyways.
I respect Angela. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't be here. You should respect her too.
― Vivian

You're cute!

Yeah, that's not a question.
― Vivian
Keep it to yourself, buddy.
― Vivian
Ugh, shut up...
― Vivian
You know, some things are just better off being unsaid.
― Vivian
You sure about that? You might not be saying that after I kick your face in.

Trivia

  • Vivian's design is a previous iteration of Angela's design, as Angela has had several re-designs over the course of ATLYSS' development.
    • This may possibly explain why she is Angela's apprentice.
  • Vivian mentions vendors selling Might Stones, Agility Stones, and Flux Stones despite no vendors directly selling them. This may be a feature that is intended to be added later.
    • Skrit can give the player Might, Agility, and Flux Stones when gambling, but he is an outlier. However, Vivian's assessment of them being expensive holds true, as they are only available from the pool of 1,000 crown or 10,000 crown trade items.
