Classes
Classes are different combat styles the player can choose from in ATLYSS. These classes usually define the types of advanced Skills the player can use, as well as the kinds of Armor they can wear and Weapons they can use best by default.
General
All characters start as the Novice class, which essentially can be defined as no class at all. While this class could be considered a "jack-of-all-trades", it is severely limiting, locking away class-exclusive spells that would otherwise be very useful to the player.
Upon reaching Level 10, the player will have the option to choose from three advanced classes—Fighter, Mystic and Bandit. These classes can be granted by Enok, Angela and Sally respectively via Class Tomes.
Once a Class Tome has been consumed by a character, its effects cannot be reversed—that character will permanently be the class they've chosen.
Subclasses
Subclasses are a further specialization into a specific class focusing on a certain aspect of the class's play style. Each class has two subclasses, which add another section to the spellbook. As of now, there is no equipment that can only be worn by a specific subclass.
Subclasses are currently still in development, with only 3 of the 6 subclasses being in the game so far. The subclasses that do exist are unfinished with the current way to unlock them being temporary.
Upon reaching level 28, subclass tomes can be bought from Cotoo for 3 Windcore Badges, which can be gotten from clearing Hard Cresent Grove.
Novice
Novice is the starting class for all newly-created characters. It can be thought of as the absence of a class, with no exclusive skills or benefits.
Using this class prohibits the use of class-based armors, such as and , as well as class-based skills. However, Novice-level skills, such as and , can still be learned and utilized.
Fighter
Fighter is a class focused on up-close, melee-based combat. It unlocks the usage of skills such as and , as well as armors such as and .
Its main attack type is Strength, meaning its attacks are dependent on the player's Attack Power. As such, this class' intended weapons are Melee, Polearms and Heavy Melee.
Fighter Subclasses
Currently Fighter only has one subclass, that being Paladin. As of the June 1, 2025 development update, the working name for the remaining Fighter subclass is Berserker.
