Notice!

This page acts as an "umbrella" page for much of ATLYSS's undocumented Alpha content. Please refer to Category:Content introduced in ATLYSS Alpha for a list of all content with no known introduction build.

ATLYSS has gone through several phases throughout its development, starting with Alpha. This phase of development primarily focused on adding most of the main mechanics to the game, including Races, Weapon types, Dungeons, and more.

With the release of Beta 1.0.0 on September 27th, 2024, ATLYSS officially left alpha. The final Alpha version was Alpha 4.9.5, released on September 18th, 2024.

At the current moment, much of ATLYSS' development—specifically the updates in which certain content was added—is undocumented. This page, as such, acts moreso as a "placeholder" redirect for any content with an unknown introduction build. If you would happen to know the patch a feature was introduced or patched in, feel free to update its history with the correct information—all help is immensely appreciated!

For a comprehensive list of content, see Category:Content introduced in ATLYSS Alpha. For a list of test locations present in ATLYSS' alpha builds, see Alpha Test Rooms. The Iteration 4 Alpha Gallery contains a variety of visuals from the alpha run of iteration 4.

3.3.0a

From the itch.io 3.3.0a devlog, posted August 16, 2024:

A new build has been released to the public, containing tons of new content such as dozens of new loot, the Bandit Class, new quests, a dungeon with 3 difficulties and several patterns, new enemies, and more. This build is more of a proper "vertical slice" of the game, containing what would be to expected for the future of it.

While it is possible to drag / drop your old character files into the profileCollections of this current build, keep in mind that things may corrupt / provide errors. I have adjusted how many things function and there's no guarantee if your old character will work properly. I would suggest starting over anyways since a lot has been redone to introduce you to the game.

Thank you for your patience, and I hope you give the game a try and discover / experience what I have been busy doing for the past several months. More information on Steam Early Access and Steam Demo releases will be coming soon, just not determined yet.

While there is analog stick axis support now for the game, gamepad support is not finalized. None of the UI elements will work with a gamepad at this time. Keyboard + Mouse or Joy2Key would be recommended to play this still.

0.9.0a

From the itch.io 0.9.0a devlog, released May 1, 2024.

It's been a little while, but rest assured I have been developing quite consistently since the last public demo. A lot of things have changed and improved on the foundational aspect of the game. Many fixes and quality of life additions have been added. From this point onwards, content will be the primary focus of the game. While there are only 2 quests added to this demo, there is plenty of items and skills to uncover, alongside all of the re-toolings of the base game. Please consider giving the game a try from the very beginning again if you can.

Multiplayer is still not available for public release. Many of the netplay structurings / buffering is geared towards the steamworks / steam lobby transport. In the future there will be dedicated hosting. If you'd like to try the multiplayer aspect of the game, you can get a steam key by joining the Patreon. Steam beta keys will be reset when the game releases in Early Access.

I would like to aim the public demo updates to be a bi-monthly if I can. I wanted to get a new demo out last month, but there were many netplay bug fixes I had to address and a lot of things needed to be focused on. My apologies for the long wait. The "tutorials" have not changed since the last demo. Please consider checking out the input settings to set your keybindings to get familiar with how things function.

Type these emote commands into the chatbox to do emotes:

/clap /think OR /ponder /dance (changs and imps dont have a dance yet) /taunt /shrug
